The Cloud Sky Imager (CSI-50N) from ACERAIN is an infrared sky imaging system engineered for round‑the‑clock monitoring of sky conditions. With a 160° field of view, it covers nearly the entire sky dome in a single frame and provides stable, accurate measurements independent of visible‑light conditions. Built on proven sensing, data transmission, and control technologies, the CSI-50N offers high reliability, easy maintenance, and seamless integration with existing monitoring infrastructures.
Leveraging infrared imaging and embedded algorithms, the CSI-50N measures sky temperature and generates cloud maps from the retrieved thermal field. It outputs standardized data products, including total, low‑, mid‑, and high‑level cloud cover, cloud‑base height, solar position, and regional sky temperature. By operating in the IR band, it eliminates the overexposed circumsolar region that typically induces segmentation errors in standard visible cameras, producing cleaner cloud masks and more reliable cloud detection. These capabilities support applications in photovoltaic forecasting and performance analysis, solar resource assessment, meteorology, and atmospheric research—especially under strong solar glare, low‑light, or nighttime conditions.
